Pluteus lutescens (Fr.) Bres. syn. P. nanus var. lutescens (Fr.) Karst Bereifter Dachpilz. Cap 1.5–5cm across, flattened convex or slightly umbonate, dark cinnamon-brown, margin paler to yellow and scarcely striate, cap surface often wrinkled towards the centre. Stem 15–70 x 2–6mm, bright lemon-yellow becoming chrome at base. Flesh thin, yellow. Gills chrome at first then yellowish pink. Pleurocystidia thin-walled, hyaline, broadly vesiculose, clavate, or cylindric. Spore print pink. Spores subglobose, 6.5 x 5.5um. Cap cuticle of sphaeropedunculate cells. Habitat on the ground amongst wood chips or other rotting deciduous wood, especially beech. Season late spring to autumn. Uncommon. Edible. (Never eat any mushroom until you are certain it is edible as many are poisonous and some are deadly poisonous.) Found In Europe.
